Accessibility Commitment
Rise is a platform committed to ensuring accessibility for all Black women and DEI professionals impacted by 2025 layoffs. We strive to provide an inclusive and welcoming online environment where everyone can engage and participate. Our accessibility efforts are aligned with the latest guidelines and standards to enhance the user experience for individuals with disabilities.
Our Approach to Web Accessibility
Web accessibility is a key priority for us. We aim to provide an online environment that offers equal access and usability to visitors with disabilities, allowing them to navigate and engage with our platform effectively.
Enhancing Accessibility on Rise
At Rise, we adhere to the latest WCAG [2.0 / 2.1 / 2.2] guidelines and strive for [A / AA / AAA] level accessibility. Our efforts include optimizing the site for assistive technologies, such as screen readers, and implementing features to enhance overall accessibility.
- Our accessibility enhancements encompass various aspects, including the use of the Accessibility Wizard, clear heading structures, alternative text for images, color contrast considerations, minimized motion, and accessible multimedia content.

Our Physical Accessibility Initiatives
RISE is committed to ensuring that every individual—regardless of ability—can fully access and participate in the opportunities and services we provide.
While RISE is primarily a digital-first platform, we are building future in-person community experiences and events with accessibility at the forefront. As those plans are developed, we are actively consulting ADA compliance standards and inclusive design experts to ensure safe, supportive, and empowering spaces for all.
When we host live events or pop-ups, our physical accessibility initiatives will include:
-
Accessible Parking: Reserved accessible parking spaces located near event entrances.
-
Public Transit Access: Event locations will be chosen with proximity to accessible public transportation whenever possible.
-
Ramp Access & Elevators: All venues will include ramp or elevator access where stairs are present.
-
Wheelchair-Friendly Layouts: Event spaces will feature wide aisles, low service tables, and adjustable seating options.
-
Accessible Restrooms: Clearly marked ADA-compliant restrooms with mobility support fixtures.
-
Signage & Wayfinding: High-contrast and Braille signage to assist all guests.
-
Audio Support: Assistive listening devices or audio induction loops provided where sound amplification is used.
-
On-Site Support: Staff and volunteers trained to assist guests with accessibility needs.
As we grow, we will continue to integrate accessibility features across both our digital and physical presence to ensure equity and inclusion for all.
